
The new series of Pound Shop Wars has started this week. The popular BBC One documentary continues to explore the competition between rivaling pound shops and discount stores throughout the UK.
In the UK there are hundreds of pound shops open and they are now a common occurrence on high streets. Competition between the different shops has been tough as more and more shops open and all are competing to get better discount prices.
Pound Shops Wars series one focused on Poundworld as they opened their two-hundred and forty eighth shop in the UK.
The series continues to follow Poundworld as they battle Poundland and 99p Stores to get the best bargain deals for their customers.
In last night’s episode of Pound Shop Wars, Trouble in Scarborough, Poundworld boss Chris Edwards discusses new strategies as Poundland and 99p Stores introduce special offers like get £2 off every £12 spent in store.
Edwards battles against changing prices and also has to contend with some of his key staff being taken by rival shops.
