It’s that time of year when most people are going on holiday or just simply enjoying the sun (or if you’re in the UK, you’re hoping to enjoy a few days of sun).

For retailers, August means it’s time to prepare for Christmas. It may seem early but the months before Christmas are a competitive season and you need to have the bestselling stock available.

Stocking early can give you time to get exclusive lines and organise a strategy against your competitors. There is a lot of money to be made in the Christmas rush but you have to plan early.

At Pound Wholesale we get the best Christmas wholesale stock in summer so our retailers can start stocking their shops in August and September.

For consumers, Christmas usually means November and December as those are the busiest shopping months of the year. Whilst for wholesalers and retailers, Christmas covers almost six months of the year. Retailers usually have six months of planning, buying, advertising and selling.

Some retailers even prepare their Christmas strategies almost a year in advance.

Each retailer has their own strategy but we always recommend you start choosing and buying your Christmas stock in August. Shops need high supplies of Christmas gifts and decorations to avoid selling out so it’s important you buy your stock early to avoid disappointment.

Wholesalers attempt to keep stock available to help retailers if they run out but as it is an expensive and busy season it is hard to promise stock will be available for immediate delivery.

Many shops have started to sell their Christmas lines in October or even in September as Christmas has become a bigger and bigger event each year.

Pound Wholesale has many pound lines of Christmas supplies which includes gifts and decorations for the festive season.
